Sunset Beach and Bird Island are the southernmost islands of North Carolina’s Brunswick Islands. The only land access is over the intercoastal waterway and salt marsh by a one lane pontoon bridge. Bird Island is connected to Sunset Beach but unlike Sunset Beach, it is totally uninhabited and underdeveloped. They are located twenty minutes north of Myrtle Beach South Carolina and forty-five minutes from Wilmington, North Carolina. |
