There are no records that tell us when the first congregation was organized at Shiloh Methodist Church in Troy North Carolina. It is believed that in 1836 a log church was moved to the present location from Shiloh Springs. In 1883 the present building was constructed and the log building was then used for a school. There has never been electricity or in-door plumbing and behind the church is a cemetery for the Shiloh families. Shiloh was closed in 1928 and every year since 1939 there is a reunion held for the former members and school alumni. A Christmas Tea and Candlelight Communion are held the first Saturday in December and is open to the public. |
