The Great Smokey Mountain National Park consists of over 500,000 acres of forest land situated in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. Congress established the park in 1934 and it is known world wide as an Internal Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site. There are 800 miles of trails that wind through the unspoiled forests displaying the beauty of wildflowers, flora and fauna and rushing mountain streams. |
