Pronghorn Antelopes are among the speediest animals in North America. Not only can they can run as fast as 60 MPH but they are also great distance runners traveling for miles at 30 to 40 MPH. Pronghorns are true American natives and are not found anywhere else in the world. They are the only animals in the world that shed their horns annually. The females have tiny spikes and are rarely pronged like the 12 to 18 inch horns of the male. This pronghorn was found roaming the plains of Antelope Island State Park in Salt Lake Utah. |
