Riverside Walk is a two mile round trip trail that begins at the Temple of Sinawava and follows the Virgin River along the bottom of the narrow Zion Canyon. The Virgin River has carved a gorge in the upper part of the canyon 16 miles long, 2,000 feet deep and sometimes only 20 to 30 feet wide. At the end of the trial you can continue on to hike the Zion Narrows. Which means you will be hiking the Virgin River in swift cold water along with constant dangers such as flash flooding and hypothermia. You must have the right equipment and good planning before continuing into the canyon. |
