Built in 1887, as the Gibsonville Methodist Protestant Church, it was the first church constructed in the original town limits of Gibsonville which consisted of one square mile. The church was built under the leadership of Berry Davidson, who was known in the area as the “pioneer mill builder of North Carolina and also mayor of Gibsonville. When the Methodist and the Episcopal Church united, the church was sold to the Central Baptist Church. |
