Marguerite Brunswig Stradue, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, conceived this idea in 1932 but it was not built until 1956. It took 18 months
and over 25,000 tons of rock had to be removed in order for this chapel to be constructed. The Chapel of the Holy Cross sits 200 feet above the ground between two red rock formations and the 90 foot cross that appears to be supporting the structure, can be seen from Highway 179 South of Sedona, Arizona. |
