Edisto Memorial Gardens, located near the bride’s home, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, is a place of beauty and history. In 1865 less than 600 Confederate soldiers gathered on this land to defend the Edisto River Bridge from the Union Army. This site was first developed in the 1920’s. The gardens have grown and developed over the years and is now filled with All American Roses, azaleas and other flora and fauna. The Orangeburg Festival of Roses is held here in May each year. |
